7 of the Most Epic Big Sky Hiking Trails

March 29, 2021
There’s nothing quite like a Big Sky Montana summer — and in particular, Big Sky hiking trails in the summer. It’s stunningly beautiful and (with a few exceptions) largely uncrowded, one of the few remaining places where you might actually have a trail or stream all to yourself. Might. If you’re even remotely outdoorsy, summer in Big Sky is paradise. Waterfalls are flowing, wildflowers are in bloom, the weather is perfect, and every outdoor pursuit imaginable is at your fingertips. Fishing, mountain biking, paddling, horseback riding, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, golf, and of course, hiking in Big Sky Montana....

Angels Landing Zion: Top Most Dangerous Hikes in the World?

I’m unquestionably adventurous, but I’m not necessarily a thrillseeker or what you’d call an adrenaline junkie. I love hiking and snorkeling, and floating the Snake River in the Tetons was one of my all-time favorite experiences — but you’re not likely to catch me...

I think the Instagram rule on birthdays is posting I think the Instagram rule on birthdays is posting a "this is..." post, right? 🤪

So, this is 36. 💁‍♀️

I'm spending my (working) birthday weekend in New Orleans and it's been incredible so far! The hospitality of @visitneworleans @neworleansmarriott @neworleanscarriages @steamernatchez @nolapedalbarge and @sazerachouse has absolutely blown me away. Southern hospitality is very, very real y'all!

Only halfway through the trip (kayaking, swamp tour, more crawfish, and drinks with @srschmid still on deck!), so keep your eyes on my stories! And of course, I'll post lots of details when I'm home. Hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend!
Let's talk about...socks! 🤣 Specifically, hikin Let's talk about...socks! 🤣 Specifically, hiking socks. 🥾

I only started wearing wool hiking socks in the summer a couple years ago. Being in southern Arizona (where, FYI, it's HOT 🥵), I always thought wool socks would totally overheat me in the summer. Boy was I wrong!

I remember when someone told me wool is actually a phenomenal temperature regulator, and not just meant to keep you warm in winter. I was skeptical. But I tried it and was blown away! Wool for summer, who knew?! 🤯

With the heat leveling up here this week, I'm wanting to expand my sock arsenal. What are YOUR fave summer hiking socks? (Wool or not!)
Last week I had the opportunity to work with @rbxa Last week I had the opportunity to work with @rbxactive on a fun new campaign. They tasked me with writing about how to be stylish + comfortable while you're traveling and on the go.

If you're not familiar with RBX, the brand is laid-back and has a super approachable vibe when it comes to fitness and a healthy lifestyle. In keeping with that, my job came with a catch: no "styled" or professional photoshoots.

Soooo, my idea was to do my "photoshoot" at home, showing how I *really* stay stylish + comfortable when I'm traveling and on the go (which is...always 🤪).

BUT - I kicked it up a notch and had my 6-year-old take my pics! No styled shoots here!! 🤣 I'd say he did pretty dang good though!

👉 Check out my latest story for a direct link to the article I wrote for RBX and to see the several outfits I created from just a few pieces.

LMK what you think - how did I do making versatile outfits and more importantly, how did my little dude do?!
I'll be the first to admit that I'm often in searc I'll be the first to admit that I'm often in search of 'epic' adventure. Road trips, sunrises, the prettiest views, hard-to-get-to places...

But I think in doing that, it's really easy to overlook the adventures that are close to home.

These incredible ruins are just 30 minutes from my house 🤯 I'd never been to them until last weekend, and it was honestly thanks to a writing assignment. They're also close to several other recreation areas, which makes for a perfect half-day or day trip from anywhere in AZ. Plus, look at those mountain views 😎 #fourpeaks

I'll have a video tour and more info up about these fascinating ruins soon. In the meantime, reminder that an adventure doesn't have to require a long trek to be 'epic' 🤙

What are some of your favorite close-to-home adventures (regardless if where you live)?
I'm heading to #neworleans next week and I need al I'm heading to #neworleans next week and I need all the recommendations!

My itinerary is pretty packed with outdoor/water activities (kayaking through a swamp? Yes please!), but I still need to fill in the really important stuff - FOOD, DRINKS, and MUSIC 🎶

I will of course hit some touristy spots, but the purpose of this trip is to work with @visitneworleans and @riverbeatsnola to highlight some lesser-known hidden gems. So if you know of a great dive for live music, have theeee best photo spots, or can point me to the best non-chain cafe, those are the tips I need! 🙏

If you've been here for any amount of time, you pr If you've been here for any amount of time, you probably know that Montana is my favorite place on earth. Also, thank you for being here 💙

In honor of finalizing plans for my next trip to Big Sky (June, and I'm already counting down the days!), I put together a guide on the most epic hikes. Disclaimer: there isn't a single non-epic hike in Big Sky 😅

From short waterfall hikes like Ousel Falls to all-day backcountry adventures into the Spanish Peaks, I covered 'em all. The link in my bio takes you directly to the post!

Awhile back I heard something very simple that ver Awhile back I heard something very simple that very literally changed my life.

It was @seanwwhalen and if you don't know who he is, I'll warn you that he gets political and isn't everyone's cup of tea...but he's also an extreeeemely successful, self-made businessman and a damn smart dude.

Anyway. He called this little talk WHO DO I HAVE TO BECOME?

The Cliffs notes version is that goals are finite and we should strive for much more in order to BECOME a successful person (whatever that may look like for you), as opposed to someone who simply met a goal. Allow me to explain...

When you see someone with a multi-million dollar oceanfront house, it's obvious they have a lot of money. They didn't make X millions and quit. MAKING the money is relatively easy, but WHO DO YOU HAVE TO BECOME to sustain that lifestyle?

The guy with the perfect body...he didn't lose X pounds or inches and quit. Again, meeting the goal is simple but WHO DO YOU HAVE TO BECOME to maintain that body?

The gorgeous girl everyone wants. Not super difficult to get her attention, but WHO DO YOU HAVE TO BECOME to KEEP her?

What habits do you have to follow, what kind of person do you have to build to BECOME that person you envision?

Such a simple mindset shift, yet it has a tremendous impact.

For me, becoming that person is making daily sacrifices. Getting up well before sunrise and working at night until I physically can't keep my eyes open. It's knowing when I need to fill up my own cup so I can be a nice and patient mama. Not buying treats because I know I'll eat them. Prioritizing a few valuable friendships in my life and going for mid-week, mid-day hikes even though my schedule barely allows for it. What are some ways you're building your own life and future?
